From July through October, Black Dalea produces small, dense heads of purple flowers at the ends of branches, adding vibrant color to dry gardens. This shrub is drought-resistant and low-maintenance, requiring minimal care once established. It attracts butterflies, particularly the Dogface butterfly, and serves as a nectar source for bees and other insects, though it is only minimally deer-resistant.
